Getting a little bored with the chase-or-be-chased gameplay in Need for Speed Rivals? Maybe a little pony power is all it will take to get you back on the streets of Redview County.

The 2015 Ford Mustang, unveiled with no shortage of pomp just last week, today joins the ranks of playable cars. A patch hitting all platforms sometime before the day is through will add the car to the game. Also included will be a series of liveries, some created by the devs, others voted on by the fans.

Nissan Leaf buyers in Texas charge up for free

Nissan Leaf buyers and lessees will soon have the ability to charge up their electric cars at no charge.

Customers who buy or lease a new Nissan Leaf between October 1, 2013, and March 31, 2014, will receive one-year complimentary charging at NRG eVgo stations, Nissan announced on Thursday. The “No Charge to Charge” offer is available at 23 eVgo locations around Dallas-Fort Worth and 17 in the “greater Houston Area.”

Nissan’s Leaf is one of the more popular all-electric vehicles available. The car has been selling well, according to Nissan, with deliveries to customers in the US up 317 percent since the new model launched in March.

Just a day after it announced free charging in Texas, Nissan said on Friday that Leaf sales in the US have hit 35,000 units since its launch in December 2010.

Honda adding ‘Eyes Free’ Siri integration in some 2013 cars

Automaker Honda today said it plans to integrate Apple’s Siri voice assistant in some of its upcoming Honda and Acura vehicles.

On the list is the 2013 Honda Accord, and two Acura models, the 2013 RDX and ILX.

The feature in question is Siri’s “Eyes Free” mode, a way to use Apple’s iOS voice assistant without having to rely on visual cues, or interact with on-screen menus. The functionality, which was introduced at last year’s WWDC, works over Bluetooth and connects through Honda’s HandsFreeLink setup just like other mobile phones.

From Apple’s own description:

With the Eyes Free feature, ask Siri to call people, select and play music, hear and compose text messages, use Maps and get directions, read your notifications, find calendar information, add reminders, and more.

Honda is the latest company to offer integration with Apple’s software. Last November Chevrolet announced plans to include the feature in its Spark and Sonic automobiles.

Siri is now available on all of Apple’s portable products, short of some iPod models, and its Mac computers. The feature requires an active Internet connection t… [Read more]
